(Tinmoitruong.vn) - German photographer Hans-Peter Grumpe captured images of famous places in Ho Chi Minh City decades ago, such as the US Embassy, Tax Trading Centre, and Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica.

Saigon in the 90s

While living in Vietnam from 1991 to 1993, Grumpe travelled in other countries. He visited HCM City in 1991 and took many photos of the city’s landmarks. In photo: The City People’s Committee, known as the Town Hall of the former Saigon administration.

Thong Nhat (Unification) Palace was built in 1966. It is also known as Independence Palace.

Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica was built in 1880. Its architecture remains unchanged.
