( - The breathtaking caves in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is always what local and international tourists think of first when the name of Quang Binh Province comes to their mind. That is true but a visit to Phong Nha-Ke Bang might be incomplete without dropping by Nhat Le Estuary, also in the province.

Upon arrival in Dong Hoi City, tourists can see unique beauty as a combination of bustling and peaceful lives of local people there. The city is adjacent to Nhat Le River where Nhat Le Estuary and a famous bridge of the same name are located.


Nhat Le Bridge is a spectacular architectural structure in the city. It manifests varied beauties with simplicity early in the morning, hustle and bustle in the daytime, solitude at twilight and hectic activity at night when its colorful lights are reflected on the river.


Tourists can also relax at Nhat Le Beach with white sand and crystal clear water or stroll along Nhat Le River to admire some old architectures and relics.

Dong Hoi Citadel still stands vividly as a symbol of a brave country while Tam Hoa Church is one of the oldest Catholic buildings in Vietnam, dating back to the 17th century.


For certain travelers who are interested in history, they are advised to drop by the Statue of Mother Suot, a heroic mother. The statue is seen as symbol of pride of Quang Binh residents.
