(16:07:07 PM 05/06/2015)
Many billboards were destroyed by a strong whirlwind in HCM City's District 9.
The local people said the whirlwind hit District 9 at about 3pm.
No damage to life was reported.
However, strong winds uprooted several houses and trees, while many billboards were broken and a number of properties were damaged.
Last night, the authorities were trying to repair the damage in Hiep Phu, Tang Nhon Phu A and Tang Nhon Phu B Wards.
Dozens of households are still living in houses without roofs.
Power failure hit many areas due to the whirlwind.
The fallen trees affected traffic flow on several roads such as Le Van Viet, Dinh Phong Phu and Duong Dinh Hoi.
Heavy rain caused severe flooding on Le Van Viet road.
Initial statistics showed that the roofs of more than 30 houses were blown away in three wards.
