Dak Nong: Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation and forest degradation

At the training session, members were provided the content of the Dak Nong province’s Action Plan to Respond to Climate Change in 2020, the project “Support for the REDD+ Readiness Preparation in Vietnam”...
The implementation of REDD+ project in the district is aimed to raise the awareness and capacity of district’s staff, community and locals in limiting deforestation, forest degradation and conserving forest carbon storage in order to contribute to the sustainable development of ecological environment locally as well as nationwide.
Reportedly, in Dak GLong District, the Dak Nong Management Unit of the project “Support for the REDD+ Readiness Preparation in Vietnam” has selected four localities including Pang So, B'Nor (Dak Som) and R'But, N'Doh (Quang Son) to implement the program.

Typhoon Kujira set to make landfall today

Energy emissions the most greenhouse gases
(Tinmoitruong.vn) - The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has introduced the lattest national greenhouse gas inventory report (GHG). Accordingly, the total GHG emission and absorption of the whole country is 246.8 million tonnes of CO2. Of those, the energy sector is the area with the highest GHG emissions accounting for 53.1% and the agriculture sector accounts for 33.2% of the total.
