GERMANY SUPPORTS VIET NAM IN TRAINING LOCAL CONSULTANCY COMPANIES ON PRE-FEASIBILITY STUDIES FOR BIOMASS ENERGY PLANS IN THE SUGAR INDUSTRY

One key factor to develop a sustainable bioenergy market in Vietnam is to have qualified human resources in the private sector that match international standards of engineering and have sound operational experience in biomass to energy conversion. These standards and experiences are essential to ensure the bankability of biomass energy project and ensure a high technical reliability and economic performance of bioenergy projects. The 4-days Training will enable local consultancy companies specialised in the energy field to get in-depth knowledge about bagasse-fired power plant and learn how to conduct high quality pre-feasibility studies.

The selected local consulting companies are already experienced in building pre-feasibility studies, developing projects as well as providing related technical advisory services to thermal and renewable power plants in Vietnam. The trainers are international consultants from Germany who devised the content of the training after conducting a capacity assessment of each company. After completing the 4-days theoretical training, the best local consulting companies will get on-the-job training in conducting few pre-feasibility studies for biomass energy plants of sugar companies in Vietnam under the supervision of international consultants. Thanks to these theoretical and then practical training, local consulting companies should be able to showcase those newly-acquired competencies to potential customers and expand consulting activities in sugar industry and renewable energy sector.
