Illegal wildlife trade poses a risk to many types of wild animals in nature to be in danger of extinction threatening to biodiversity. The department of Biodiversity Conservation said that recently, local and international agencies, organizations had efforts to conserve biodiversity but somewhat limited rate of biodiversity degradation. Dr. Hans Dieter Stell said that to address these issues adequately, it required to settle the entire trading network, from the provider, transhipment to the place of consumption.
Vietnam Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) emphasized that consumption of wild animals was at risk to catch diseases. For example, SARS originated from civet species. Therefore, consumers should not use natural wildlife to restrict the suffering of dangerous diseases.
