Releasing 3 endangered stump-tailed macaque individuals

(Tinmoitruong.vn) - A representative of the Phu Mat National Park (Nghe A province) said that their Wildlife Rescue Centre has just released 3 stump-tailed macaque individuals which were confiscated by the provincial forest protection force, from illegal trading, hunting, transport in recent time.

The macaque individuals have its weight from 3 to 12.5 kg. After being cared at the Centre, they were in good health condition and able to reproduce normally in nature condition.

The stump-tailed macaque species has scientific name Macaca arctoides and classified in “Vulnerable” group in the Red Data List of Vietnam and the World.

At this time, the Wildlife Rescue Centre of the Phu Mat National Park also released one small sloth-monkey individual (Nicticebus pygmaeus) and two yellow box tortoise individuals (Cuora galbinifrons), and one mountainous tortoise individual (Manouria impressa).
