(Tinmoitruong.vn) - “My home, New Zealand, offers the best fresh produce on the planet; I can’t thank our beautiful seas, sky and earth enough for all it provides. My best memories are created around food – through the simple act of sharing a meal around the table, so too are stories, knowledge and laughter shared”, wrote Nadia Lim, Master Chef New Zealand in 2011.

Nadia Lim, the well-known New Zealand food author and cook, will visit Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from 4-8 May 2015 as one of the highlights of the ‘New Zealand – Open to the New’ season, celebrating 40 years of friendship and diplomatic relations between New Zealand and Vietnam. During her visit, Nadia will showcase her special cooking style, premium New Zealand food and wine products, and promote links between New Zealand and Viet Nam at the people-to-people and business-to-business levels through the medium of food.

During the visit, the great New Zealand cook and food author will conduct cooking demonstrations and tutorials for lecturers and students at the Saigon Tourist Cooking School in Ho Chi Minh City and the Hanoi Tourism School.  She will also visit the Ba Chieu Home for Girls to learn more from the home’s residents about Vietnamese cooking traditions.  She will direct two cooking shows for the local TV and be the special guest at a dinner hosted at the Sofitel Metropole Hotel in Ha Noi aiming to raising funds for the Blue Dragon Foundation. Nadia will also be the guest of honour at the New Zealand Food Connections event in Hanoi, aiming to showcase premium New Zealand food and beverage to Viet Nam’s leading F&B professionals.

Nadia has previously travelled to Viet Nam on a food tour, and she describes it as one of the best travel and food experiences that she has ever had.  She loved the Vietnamese culture of eating together around a table and the large focus on fresh herbs, vegetables and rice.

“We are excited to welcome one of New Zealand’s most prestigious cooks and food authors to Vietnam to help us build connections with Viet Nam through the medium of top quality, healthy and delicious food.”, says New Zealand’s Ambassador to Vietnam, HE Haike Manning.

“New Zealand’s internationally award-winning food and wines are increasingly popular in Vietnam.  I am delighted to see how much Vietnamese consumers enjoy food and beverage products from New Zealand, recognising their premium quality owing to New Zealand’s pristine environment, modern production systems and strict food safety regulation scheme.” added Ambassador Manning.
