Titled “Vietnam Forest and Delta”, the project supports Vietnam’s goal for sustainable development, low carbon emissions and adaptation to climate change by improving land-use planning and forest and natural resources management.
Furthermore, the project will mobilise communities into developing action plans for climate change adaptation.
The 4.12-million-USD project, the vast bulk of which comes from US financial support, will enhance local people’s livelihoods and resilience in the districts of Can Duoc and Tan Thanh.
USAID Vietnam Mission Director Joakim Baker said that the project will support the local authorities, people and enterprises in adapting their businesses and production to the changing climate as well as dealing with flooding and the rising sea level.
