Meeting with Minister-President of Baden Wuerttemberg Winfried Kretschmann, PM Dung expressed his pleasure to set foot on the land of “German industrial and commercial center.”
The two sides were satisfied with the positive cooperation in such areas as economics, investment, education and labor. So far, a large number of German large-scale enterprises from the State of Baden Wuerttemberg have done profitable business in Viet Nam including Bosch (manufacturing), Daimler (automobile), and Bilfinger (designing consultancy and building).
PM Dung proposed the State of Baden Wuerttemberg continue to support the building of Vietnamese-German University in HCM City; push forth the signing of a Letter of Intent on science and technology cooperation and expand support for vocational training projects.
For his part, Winfried Kretschmann highly valued the pilot program on sending Vietnamese nurses to Germany and agreed to research other fields of cooperation including electricity and water technology.
The same day, PM Dung partook in the Viet Nam- Baden Wuerttemberg Business Forum.
Addressing the event, the PM warmly welcomed the German high-quality, modern and environmentally friendly investment inflows in Viet Nam.
However, the presence of German enterprises in Viet Nam remained modest and not in line with respective potentials and advantages, said PM Dung.
So far, Germany ranked 5th among 23 European countries investing in Viet Nam, with 232 projects worth nearly US$ 1.5 billion.
According to PM Dung, the two sides should strengthen investment activities to fully tap respective potentials and advantages for practical benefits./.
