This activity aims to urge leaders, students, tourists and local people for the protection of Dugong – the endangered marine species on the brink of extinction in Vietnam.

Two main activities of the festival are a parade with the message of Dugong protection and a drama contest from the six Marine Conservation Clubs at Phu Quoc Cultural House. The festival urged people to “Together take part in saving Dugong and endangered marine creatures of Phu Quoc!” It is expected to attract more than 800 participants.

Previously, the WAR collaborated with the Phu Quoc Marine Protected Area and the Phu Quoc Department of Education and Training to perform a series of educational activities for students and local people to call for the protection of Dugong through Marine Conservation Clubs and teaching the wildlife protection in Biology course in the entire secondary schools on the island.
