(Tinmoitruong.vn) - Department of Pollution Control (Vietnam Environment Administration) has collaborated with the Japan International Agency (JICA) to organize a midterm workshop of the project named " Strengthening institutional capacities of air quality management."

Addressing at the workshop, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Environment Administration Hoang Duong Tung said that the project supported Vietnam in developing regulations on air quality management, identifying the list of air quality management bylaws, raising awareness and capacity building activities for air quality management and supporting construction planning process of air quality management in two big cities such as Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi.

According to JICA experts’ progress report, the project has organized 8 workshops on technical consultancy to determine the situation of the air quality management in the city of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and support technical consultancy in the gas emissions inventory of the Department of Pollution Control in the specific industry, assist in policy advice in draft decree on waste and imported scrap management under the 2014 Law of Environmental Protection.
