Binh Thuan: Protecting gaur on the endangered list

(Tinmoitruong.vn) - Management Unit (MU) of protection forest in Song Luy (Binh Thuan Province) said that recently, people in Song Khieng village, Song Luy Commune, Bac Binh District had discovered a tremendous individual gaur moving towards residential areas.

According to the observation of people, the animal is black with big body, high front shoulders, big breasts, 2 round, curved, and long horns, white nasal hair. Through collecting photographs of MU of protection forest in Song Luy and comparing with the identifying characteristics, the gaur’s scientific name is Bosgaurus, under Bovines on the Group IB of endangered and rare species with protection priority under the law.

Mr. Nguyen Nhu Tuan, the head of a guard station of protection forest in Song Luy said that when they heard the reported news, the station organized a force to the scene to protect, prevent people from intending to harm gaur. The government force will also propagate the people not attacking this endangered and rare animal.
